Jenna urges the School Committee to approve the Superintendent's budget, maintain services

 

"The proposed allocation will require cuts to school services and staff in a system that's already close to the bone. I truly believe we can do better and I'm here to encourage you on this Committee to work hard to do just that.

Members of this Committee and others have identified different fiscal choices that could better support our students without harming other constituencies. In the interest of our students and our community we need this Committee to be persistent and creative advocates for different choices and for a hopeful future for our schools where all of our students thrive.

I urge you to approve the Superintendent's thoughtful, realistic, and transparent budget, which already contains meaningful cuts and compromises, and reflects the bare minimum of resources needed to maintain base level services"
